Neons
Have you ever plugged in a tool and had no
power? Finding the source of the problem is now easy if you use a cord
with a lighted end. A small neon bulb is permanently fused in the end
of a clear plug end. If there is power at the end of the cord, the neon glows...
Voltage drop
The correct extension cord for the
job is essential when using power tools. Length (metres) and rating
(Amps) are the two most important factors to consider. Cables with low
current ratings or excessive resistance (mainly due to unnecessary
length) can cause voltage drop. Voltage drop is likely to cause
overheating, resulting in permanent damage to your tools.
When the
voltage drops it can cause tools not to work properly, making the
amperage go up to compensate for the low voltage. When the amperage
goes up in an electrical motor, the wires in the motor winding can
overheat. This in turn causes the insulation on those wires to melt
which leads to motor failure. Electrical extension cords come in a
variety of sizes and Amp ratings to prevent this. Not all extension
cords are created equal. Within the outer insulation of an extension
cord you will find wires that contain different amounts of copper.
Wires that contain more copper can supply your tools with more
Amps. The more Amps the less voltage drop. |

Multi Outlet Power Cord
This extremely durable Multi Outlet Power Cord has four tough, hardwearing outlets spaced along flexible heavy duty
cable. Every outlet has an illuminated switch giving the user total
control over their power. The sockets also have dust and moisture
guards and mounting anchors. The entire cord is protected by a manual
reset overload switch.
The Multi Outlet Power Cord gives
you the ability to plug multiple tools in at the same time. It also
gives you the ability to wire up your shed or workshop as all
the outlets are fully mountable. Alternatively the Multi outlet power
cord can be used for temporary setups providing power across the
working area.
The Multi Outlet Power Cord is available in either the yellow Handyman version (10 Amp cable) or the red Industrial (15 Amp cable).

Splash Proof Plug
The Splash Proof Plug was developed in 2005 and has now passed all the
required tests to AS/NZS 60320 AS/NZS 60320 ASNZS 60529 AS/NZS 60529.
The
main feature of the cord set is the plug and
socket design, used as a set they pass the I.P.x5 code
rating.
I.P.5 certification ensures protection from water splashing from all directions giving excellent protection from water ingress
Custom Cord Sets
Key
have a wide ranging expertise in the manufacture of plug and cord sets
with a huge range of moulds, including 15 amp plug and sockets as well
as being able to design and develop custom plugs for specialised
applications. We are also able to accommodate production runs of almost
any size.
Our cable range includes:
- PVC cable in two, three and four cores in either v75 c or v90 c temperature rating.
- Availiable from 7.5amp up to 20amp in light, ordinary and heavy duty.
