OUR INAUGURAL EVENT INCLUDES :

The 1st Gippsland Celtic Festival brings to the people of Gippsland and beyond the opportunity to come together in a celebration of Celtic culture and tradition. The main attraction on both day's will be the ongoing entertainment provided by a great line-up of traditional and Celtic rock bands and performers plus displays of Highland Dancing, Irish Dancing, and Scottish Country Dancing.

PROGRAMME DETAILS HERE

Saturday festivities will commence at Logan Park at 11am and will continue through to Midnight with a feature of the day being a street Parade scheduled for 1pm followed by a performance of the comedy production ' An Englishman, Irishman and Scotsman'. Also, later in the evening will see on stage the popular bands Bhan Tre and The Borderers.

Sundays festivities will run from 10.30am till 6.00pm and include a Gaelic football match, a Haggis Throwing Competition plus a continuation of great music and dancing. A Ceili Dance session will be scheduled into the Programme and is bound to be a fun experience for those who take part. Also on the Programme will be a Whiskey Tasting session for those willing to front up.

Musical Performances:

Great Celtic Music will feature throughout the Festival with performances by the following - The Borderers, Bhan Tre, Caledonia,Skibbereen, Cyril Moran & Greg Hunt, Boola Boola, Colonials, Jamie McKinnon, Brigolong Bush Band, Molly Maguires, The Davidsons, Ragwort, The Beenies, Alan Tatlow, Michelle Muffit, and Shirley Power.

Pipe Bands:

Irish Pipes and Drums, Morwell Pipe Band, Wellington Shire Pipe Band, and Casey Pipe Band.

Dancing Performances:

O'Shea-Ryan Acedamy of Irish Dance, Irene Hart Highland Dancers, Melbourne Highland Dancers, Morwell Scottish Country Dancers, and Berwick Scottish Country Dancers.

Other Attractions:

Guinness Tent, Shelley's Irish Coffee( a favourite with those who have been fortunate enough to experience it!). Celtic animal breeds, Childrens activities, Workshops( e.g. fiddle, pipes, bodhran plus more), Celtic Arts and Crafts, Viking reienactments, on-site food and drinks including Rob's Irish/Scottish meats, haggis, black pudding etc. and Fireworks display on Saturdayt night.
