"Lest we Forget"
In the year 2003 former members of both the Victorian and South Australian associated with this Squadron will cease to meet as organized groups, however, it is to be hoped that the personal contact between them will remain. For these men it is their pride and sense of achievement in what they did for this nation that united them for the past fifty seven years. This Website is in recognition of those who endured the horrendous conditions of Dutch New Guinea, those who succumbed and were buried in the swamps of Merauke, also those who never returned from their mission, their graves being the vast swamps and jungles of DNG now Irianjaya and the waters of the Torres Strait and Arafura Sea. From the words of the Ode; "They shall not grow old."
I hope that the passage from the service used within the Squadron from the Book of Isaiah Chapter XL Verse 31 rang true for them, for they shall be remembered for all time by those who have grown old, yet still bonded for all time in spirit.
On the Thirteeth of June 2004 Len Crosling at the age of ninety three passed away breaking one of the true bonds I had formed with the Squadron.
