I did this big set of shelves to use up a junk screen I made for a
sculpture. It looks good but it is so big and heavy I have trouble moving

holds it up and allows it gentle movement |

The symbol is also for the response to china exhibition and stands
about 1.5 m tall. It has a background of mirror mosaic and is the
Chinese symbol for friendship. It has a battered surface ( like our
friendship over the years) but the mirror shining through expresses hope and
light. I guess when you look into the symbol you are also reflected showing
friendship is made up of people like you. |
This is an idea I saw at an exhibition years ago but with trees. To
show the multitudes of China I have taken a selection, The people on the
scooters, a bike rider, a beggar, a street sweeper, a girl on a mobile phone
and put them in a box lined with mirrors so the reflection duplicates the
image( thank you also Harpo Marx!) |
This isnt really February work but it should be shown. I have covered this
chair with teddy bears( soft toys ) as the seating and people are a bit
awkward in sitting on them |
