Back to Laurie Collins Homepage       Tables 1

This is a table that developed from
the lovely slab of spalted elm.
I bought three from the Warragul Wood club and they sat around until
I had the inspiration to do this

A matching slab to the first table but I had this wonderful pulley wheel and the two seemed to go together

I like making hall tables for I can fit them in my car. They are tall and thin . This one has a mixture of natural wood and Mirror mosaic and Rubinia wood for the mirror frame
Another halltable  with blackwood slab and blackwood mirror frames. The blue tiles look particularly good against the orange car! This is a hall table with a
blackwood slab and blackwood mirrors
and the flowers are mosaic
and some tiles too
I started doing a series of pieces involving mini ladders. Why? well I'm not really sure but it could be to do with ladder licences or it could be to do with a bird house I saw. Anyway this one is a diving board table.( sold at Warragul Rotary Art show)

Half round again. I like them but they haven't moved all that quickly. This one has tiles on the surface of the table.

Another ladder piece ( the high wire) but this time the wood is slabs of spruce from the Warragul Wood club This table is a mixture of mirror mosaic, timber( chipboard) and steel framing. The mirror pieces often are not set perfectly flat and when a light hits them they give a range of gentle reflections on the wall floor or ceiling
