My first solo exhibition( Drouin Butter factory) Aug to Sept 2006

1.      Balance

Many of the things I try in life is about balance, although I have never quite tried this!

Love seat

Somebody asked me for another love seat and this one has more of a family theme

Musical shelves

The “Song of Joy” was going to be a table but the first line was too long so I put it vertically

Flower Table

The wood is from my neighbours tree and I love the combination of colour and form

Flowing seat

I saw some one do a seat in this form using all wood but I loved the idea of bending the metal into “natural forms

Sickness

A friend has been stricken with cancer and I felt that any form of hospitalization was like being trapped in a golden cage. Lots of attention but not what you want!

Clothesline

This piece was also for the wild dogs and I thought that if the exhibition went to China then a rotary clothes line would be a real oddity. I then thought of the song hearts on the line so I thought that would also be a bit of fun.

spring seat

Originally going to have full balls but they kept leaping out. I cut the frame down and also cut the balls in half. I think it still is comfy

Flower screen

Flowers are fun to do and the idea of doing metal ones  is sort of fun.

Running girl

This piece was inspired by a photo I took of one of our students at the aths. Her hair was streaming behind her and her style was very neat. This piece was a possibility for the wild dogs exhibition and I thought that most girls these days run in the streets with a dog for protection, hence the Doberman.

A strange little stand involving a polished brass ball some blackwood and a metal rack Mirror mosaic is fun to do. The stars will all have their own light reflections
