Wood stuff

I used to do lots of wood stuff and my main lines were natural edged mirrors and pedestals turned from Redgum House stumps .

Of late though I have done a series of personality boxes.

Lots of fun and I though quite appropriate.

The Sue Box. Very Prickly on the outside but soft inside. The mouth features quite prominently !

The box is basic radiata with lots of turned cones . The inside is lined with red fur  and the lid is lift off with the mouth acting as the handle

The fish and bird boxes. The fish is a cartoon type and the bird's feathers are lots of staples! The bird has metal legs too
This is the Jenny box made for the library dragon. It is spiky on top and covered with books and the box  is again basic pine covered with pine seeds . The dragon sits on its treasure so coins are set into the bottom. The inside of the box is covered with a furry red material The boss box. Our boss is good with the money so the box has a secret drawer to hide money in. The boss is made of money so his head lifts off and you can fill him up. He has another persona as a sportsman so hence you can turn his head around and he is ready for football tennis or whatever. Of course his colours are those of St Kilda!
This is the Lisa box made for our past  music teacher. The handle is the piano reflecting her interest in the piano and the inside is covered with glittery girly fabric ( because she is a girl!!) The notes are turned and stuck on and the music is the first few bars of Mona Lisa by Nat King Cole!   The shelley box . Shelley is an art teacher artist hence the paintbrush skewering her. She loves birds hence the range of beaks and she is "nesting" The eyse are sort of Deborah Halpernish and they have real fake eylahes.
The roller bowl. Made from cypress with attached skateboard wheels and laces in the side Fish made with beaten metal fins and pins seeds scales.
A mirror with turned cones set into a plain frame. It doesn't seem to want to sell though!
