Bred by the late Lt. Col. E W Williams-Wynn, Abergele, Wales, Bedwyn was imported to Australia by Beryl Sitch of Llanfechan Stud. Llanfairbryn Stud purchased him in 1980 from Susan Miller of Derralea Stud.
Bedwyn's sire Coed Coch Pela was Champion at the Ponies of Britain (under Alison Mountain) and his dam Coed Coch Doli was a Royal Welsh winner. Already a Royal Show Resv. Champion and Agricultural Show multi Champion Bedwyn continued his highly successful show career for Llanfairbryn Stud winning 40 first prizes, 10 Supreme Championships, 21 Championships and 15 Reserve Championships between 1981 and 1987 when he retired from the ring at the the age of 17.

Bedwyn produced 56 ponies carrying our Llanfairbryn prefix including (amongst others) the stallions Llanfairbryn Silver Fox, Cadno, Snowdon and John Jones, and the mares Daliad, Pali, Ceinder, Cadi, Sidan, Honesty (Sec.B) Edwyna, Siriol, Vyvyan, Celi, Doli, Anwyled, Ceridwen, Sioned, Lowry, Sali, Kisses-for-Me (PW), Prancio, Ginger Rogers (PW), Bedwyna, Little Heron, Foxy, Czarina, Clara Jones, Miss Daisy, Cariadus, Meadow Foxtail, Sabrina, Silver Birch, Gwyneth, Miss Brodrick, Olympia, Ffansi Free and Last Waltz. Five daughters, Foxy, Miss Daisy, Miss Brodrick, Last Waltz and Ginger Rogers (PW) and several grand-daughters remain in the Stud. Bedwyn is the sire of Royal and All-Welsh Show Champions and Royal Show, All-Welsh and Stud Show Progeny Groups.

Doulton won Champion Welsh Exhibit at the APSB Open Youngstock Show 2002. We have retained Doulton's highly successful palomino daughter Llanfairbryn Corn Doli. Doulton is now in Queensland. His son, Llanfairbryn Goldrush (full brother to Corn Doli) owned by Ashley Porter, won his colt class at both the Victorian All-Welsh and the 2006 Australian Welsh Nationals. His daughter Eirian won her class at the WA All-Welsh.

Jack, was a WP&CSofA Foal Futurity winner and Multi Champion including Champion Colt at the 2004 Royal Melbourne Horse Show. He died of a twisted bowel in 2004. A daughter, Llanfairbryn Christening Day and a colt Llanfairbryn Harlequin (now a multi Supreme Champion) were foaled in 2004. We have retained Christening Day.

Nattai Bedwyn, named by his breeder, the late Lady Creswick, after our Coed Coch Bedwyn (Imp), was purchased by Llanfairbryn in partnership with Miss J McDonald and joined the Stud in November 2003. His breeding greatly complements our Coed Coch/Twyford bloodlines. Twyford Maple (Imp) was a Royal Melbourne Show Champion Colt and was sired by Rhyd-y-Felin Swgwr (full brother to the illustrious Coed Coch Siaradus) and out of the beautiful matron Twyford Magpie. Bedwyn's dam Nattai Ragtime (full sister to Melbourne and Sydney Royal Show Supreme Champion Nattai Cream of Eppynt) is sired by world record price holder, the legendary Coed Coch Bari (Imp).
Bedwyn, a multi Champion, was Champion Stallion at the 2001 Victorian All-Welsh Show under Dorthe Bagason of Denmark. At the 2006 Welsh Nationals, under David Puttock and Marie-Claire Nimmo of the UK, Bedwyn was Champion Sec A Stallion, Supreme Champion Sec A Exhibit and Champion Welsh Stallion (All Sections). At the Autumn Welsh Show he was Champion Sec A Stallion, Supreme Champion Sec A Exhibit and Grand Champion In-Hand Exhibit.
