Neerim Native Flora specializes in the propagation of plants that are indigenous to West Gippsland. Plants including trees, shrubs, grasses and climbers are propagated from seed & cuttings collected under DSE permit from local State Forests and from remnant stands on private land. Plants are supplied for the revegetation of degraded land & riparian zones, stock shelterbelts, wildlife corridors, roadside rehabilitation, landscaping and amenity plantings.
Plants are available in Forestry Tubes. These tubes incorporate root trainers, providing excellent root development.
During growing, all tubes are stood in air-pruning crates (with 50 tubes per crate). Tubes are delivered to our customer in these convenient crates. As we re-use crates, a small deposit is charged on each and this fully refunded on crates returned in good condition.
Neerim Native Flora stocks some plants all year round. However, to ensure availability of sufficient quantities of preferred species for revegetation projects, customers are asked to order early. Most revegetation plantings take place in Autumn (after the first rains) or in Spring, so please order 4-6 months ahead of your planting program. Order by phone, email or in person (please ring beforehand).
Neerim Native Flora can advise on appropriate species for revegetation projects, including native shelterbelts. We consult Ecological Vegetation Classes (EVCs) when determining suitable species for your revegetation site (EVCs define floristic communities - refer our FAQ page for more information).
A planting service is available - please enquire.
