Tree Guards & Stakes

Neerim Native Flora recommends the use of Tree Guards if rabbits or hares are present. Please note that they are not an effective protection against kangaroos, wallabies or deer. Where wombats are present, then 1" square Hardwood stakes are recommended in place of Bamboo. Our most popular Tree Guard configuration comprises a Clear Plastic Sleeve (UV-stabilized with a life expectancy of 18 months) and 3 Bamboo Stakes. Tree Guard sleeves comprising other materials such as 1 litre & 2 litre milk cartons or open plastic mesh are also available.

Weedmats

Weedmats are a "clean green" bio-degradable alternative to the use of herbicides for weed control. In planting sites prone to strong winds or flooding steel holding pins are available. Weedmats are available in either Jute or recycled fabric, measuring 370mm x 370mm, with a life expectancy of 18-36 months.

Tree Planter

Designed for rapid planting of Forestry Tube seedlings and constructed from sturdy stainless steel. Tree Planters work by removing a core of soil to create a perfectly sized hole into which the plant is placed.

Stake-It-Ezi treeguard stake driver

Manufactured locally for Neerim Native Flora, Stake-It-Ezi makes the job of driving bamboo stakes into the ground much easier and quicker. Includes a high-quality Australian-made leather hip holster.

Cut & Paint Applicator

A sponge bottle which allows you to conveniently, safely and economically apply herbicide to weeds when using the Cut & Paint method of weed control. The bottle holds a small amount of neat herbicide, and the sponge, when applied to the exposed stem wound of the weed (eg. a freshly cut blackberry stem) will dispense a small quantity of herbicide onto the stem tissue. This applicator is safe to You and to the Environment, and it avoids wastage of expensive herbicide.
